Reading Tarot Cards, Find The meaning Of Each Tarot Card Part 1

Hopefully this will help you to read the tarot yourselves

It’s just a few notes to get you started.

We will post a little and often, I personally have found if I’m given too much information in one go I rush ahead and don’t really take very much of it in.

So here goes nothing.

Choosing a deck is a very personal thing I would suggest picking up a few different ones and trying to feel which one’s you feel most attracted to.

I personally don’t like the dark one’s I much prefer something a little lighter like the mythic tarot for instance.

Thats my favourite deck at the moment. They make life easier because they are only read upright and there are no reversal meanings that helps greatly when you are starting out.

Not that I’m suggesting that reversals are a problem just think its less to take in to begin with.

Ok so you have chose your deck what now.

This time I will just give a few tips on the major arcana thats the 22 main cards like the picture cards in a normal deck e.g the kings,Queen’s etc

The First Card is the Fool

This Card Represents the self. He Represents a new beginning a new start for the Quarent the position in the spread will determine which area of your life it is referring to.It stands for important choices and decisions need to be made no matter how difficult they may seem to make or how challenging and also may involve a degree of risk, But if approached optimistically and in a positive way a bright and positive outcome is assured.

The Magician

The Magician Symbolizes the ability to tap into universal power, and Knowledge.This Card tells us that the Querant is an intelligent and skillful communicator and has the self confidence to translate ideas into productive action. The talents will be called upon in a new opportunity presenting itself in a practical sphere this could involve politics or business. This may be a risky venture but your ability to channel your energy will ensure success.

The High Priestess

The High Priestess signifies self reliance and Good judgement. This card tells us to use your heart rather than the head to use intuition instead of reason, use your gut feelings in making an important decision.The card may also sometimes tell us of some hidden facts affecting our current state, surrounding cards may indicate what area of your life would be affected.

The Empress

A great card to find in your spread. This card signify s harmony peace and satisfaction for you in many aspects of your life. particularly relating to family’s relationships and and the home. This card may even suggest the birth of a child as maternal influences are at work here ( though this doesn’t mean it will be your own child just someone else within your family unit or close friends.Can also suggest a successful marriage.

The Emperor

This card signifies leader ship and authority a strong male influence in the Querant’s life. The emperor represents self-discipline organization and stability a path of action leads to fulfilment. It can also be a good indicator of promotion at work to a position of higher responsibility and respect.

The Hierophant ( the Pope)

This card has more than one meaning it can mean either conformity and an observation of the moral or religious conventions of your culture will bring you huge fulfilment, or this card can mean seeking of guidance from a professional whether it be a lawyer a teacher of just an adviser.

The Lovers

This card represents Love and happy relationships ( possibly rekindled relationships).It can also signify that some choices need to be made often conflicting choices where your options need to be weighted up this can be worrying for the Querant but if given due consideration all struggles internal or otherwise will lead to the correct decision being made.

The Chariot

Intense hard work is signified by this card, set backs and uphill struggle and problems. These could belong to the past the present or the future this all depends upon the surrounding cards and the position that this card falls but a positive outcome is almost always indicated.Because the chariot moves things on it stands for strength and endurance if you use your own strength and endurance you will overcome all obstacles.

Justice

This card signifies fair treatment and justice for the Querant not only where legal matters are involved but in any sphere of your life disputes are likely to be resolved fairly and in your favour. It also suggests that you seek a balance between opposing forces in your life these could be physical mental, rational and intuitive material and spiritual.

The Hermit

When you see the hermit you need to stand back from your situation and look at it from an outside perspective so that you may evaluate your circumstances.It also suggest the need for inner peace and calm the need for a quiet mind.Get away from everyday pressures of home and work and go deep into your self and find the guidance that comes from within this will help you with direction.

The Wheel of fortune

Usually and in general this is an optimistic card it signifies the start of a new cycle in the Querants life and the end of something old that no longer serves you well, These changes often occur outside of your control but either way tend to be positive. The position of this card will indicate which area the changes are most likely to occur.

Strength

A very powerful card it shows us the strength we have or need to overcome our problems It tells of how to face up to things that we have to deal with have courage and determination to succeed.We also need to be sure to control negative feelings of anger hatred jealousy and violence and use or strength for positive means this will enable us to overcome obstacles and in turn will lead to happiness and fulfilment. If you have suffered illness a recovery in indicated.

The Hanged Man

Change and sacrifice are both indicated by the appearance of this card.You will be given two paths to choose from a turning point is ahead of you which way do you go? Difficult yet necessary sacrifices will have to be made in pursuing your chosen route other people may not agree or even understand why but however hard it seems at the time giving up familiar view points and changing your opinions it will ultimately lead to a new sense of spiritual well being and emotional fulfilment

Death

In an upright position this card symbolizes many changes ahead major changes. Complete severance from certain people places or situations, this kind of dramatic transformation is never without some sort of pain and feeling of loss but you must accept these changes they are essential and will bring a fresh start a new beginning. examples of the kind of changes are divorce changing of a career moving home these things are generally traumatic for most people but are not totally negative as the final outcome is a fresh and positive new start.

Temperance

Temperance is generally a good card to find in your spread as it signifies a period of confidence and optimism whatever problems life throws your way will be handled well.It asks us to take stock of our circumstances and and strive to strike a balance between opposing forces within ourselves to release inner tensions and create a feeling of inner peace and harmony, We should also show self control in our physical lives too.

The Devil

Simply this means entrapment, this can take various forms you may be feeling bound to a situation a person or a place, your passions maybe clouding your reason and logic and therefore affecting your judgment. You may try to deny these circumstances and bury your head in the sand This card tells us to face our demons face up to our weaknesses when you recognize what holds you back you can begin to move forward and break free from your shackles this will release those feelings of pent up anger and frustration and improve your situation.

The Tower

Never happy to see this card it signifies conflicts disruptions and trauma.These will come from unforeseen events such as an illness an accident job loss or even a loss of faith.Although these things seem awful they do bring about changes that are positive and bring you new beginnings.

The Star

This Card signify s calmness and serenity for the Querant and is a very positive card to have in your spread. You will begin to see the path ahead more clearly and difficulty s will melt away. This card also can mean revitalizing after a period of illness.Look out for confidence and fulfilment of goals you should be inspired to move all things on in a positive way.

The Moon

To me when I see the moon card I know all is not how it seems. This card brings misunderstandings confusion muddles Its like being in two minds about something and not having the clear mind to chose which way to go. This disillusionment could be either through someones deception or just your own self delusion.Either way it lyes heavily on your soul You are guide to use your intuition and instincts to find your solution and all will turn for the better.

The Sun

This is a good card it shows us positive achievements and material success happiness in all things and contentment. What more can you ask for You will find the strength and ability to achieve anything you wish you will develop th necessary skills and drive needed to succeed. This card brings recognition and reward for any hard work expect promotion. This card also tell us that it is the perfect time for new ventures for example a new business marriage having children etc.

Judgement

The Quarent may be facing a time of major transitions the conclusions of events will be subtle and not abrupt in any way things will move on naturally and not be forced.You may be facing a major decision but be assured that the right decision will be made and a new phase of your life will begin.Within a short time you will be able to sit back and assess the progress that you have made and give yourself a pat on the back.

The World

This card again is a card of changes it will bring a successful Conclusion to something in your life. Spiritual awareness is signified and also material success and gain.Whatever may have been holding you back is released or removed giving you a sense of freedom and movement and peace. This card can also bring travel particularly over seas.

The Meanings I have given above are a personal interpretation and should not be taken as gospel, The thing is when you read cards you have to feel the answers as they are never black and white you cant get 100% from reading a book. Look inside your self and feel the answer the words here are merely a guideline.
